From My Grandmother's Attic
I was 12 years old, rummaging under the eaves of my grandmother's attic, when I came upon treasures of another era. Along with old photographs and family mementos, there was a small weathered box that advertised Weave-It Looms. Inside were three, square wooden frames nested together. Each had a distinctive pattern of fine steel pegs set around the edge. There was a long blunt needle, but no instructions, and I became curious as to how these little looms worked. I had found something that would capture my imagination for years to come.

When I later inherited my grandmother's Weave-It Looms I decided to bring them back into production believing that a whole new generation could benefit from these simple yet versatile looms. I added the name Weavettes® to the products, evoking small woven textiles. I also added novel sizes and configurations to complement the classic square loom shapes. Since 1998, Buxton Brook Looms has provided these products to weavers, knitters and quilters living in 20 countries around the globe. In the process, I have been touched by how many people have fond memories of these special little looms.
